2009-2010 Sponsorship Information

Attention all parents of OCHS athletes and band members:

I apologize for the following. I know this will cause confusion but Scott Thaxton cannot come to the August 15^th Picture Day at Watson Mill Park.

So, we will move it to Sunday, August 16^th at 4:00pm at Watson Mill Park.

This will include all Senior Band members, all athletes participating in a fall sport, any senior and parent who needs make-up pictures from Monday the 10^th, and all high school cheerleaders.

I hope this does not mess anyone up. If you have a conflict and still need pictures taken, please call me and we will work it out.

Again, I apologize for the confusion.

OC athletic booster club minutes

Attached you will find the minutes from the last athletic booster club meeting. Our next meeting will be held August 17^th at 6:30 in the Media Center. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

There will be a parent meeting for all OCHS football parents on August 7^th at 7:00 in the HS cafeteria. If your child is playing HS football please make plans to attend.

Don’t forget that OCHS Picture Day for the Fall Sports Program is August 10^th at 4:00. Yes, this is a Monday after school. This is the best we could do with schedules of try-outs, football practices, and printer’s deadlines. August 15^th will be Picture Day make-ups at Watson Mill Park at 4:00 as well as Senior Dressy Pictures. If your child is a senior and did not receive a letter in the mail regarding Picture day, please call me.

Cheerleading Try-outs for OCMS and OCHS will be August 10^th-13^th. Cheerleading pictures for the program will be made on August 15^th at Watson Mill Park at 4:00.

New t-shirts - $12 each and hats $15 each. Motion to approve prices by Craig Pruitt and seconded by Scott Carlisle. Motion carried.

Pricing of old t-shirts - $5 for short and long sleeved. Motion to approve the reduced price by Jeannie Ferguson and seconded by Donna Magnus. Motion carried.

August 1^st - Two-a-day practice for football team. Alan Erwin will provide and cook hamburgers/hotdogs/drinks for players for lunch. Also donating charcoal for Community Day BBQ. In Kind Contribution – motion made by Craig Pruitt and seconded by Darcy Mallonee. Motion carried.

August 7^th beginning of Football Camp at OCHS. Parents are asked to drop off at practice that week :bread, peanut butter and jelly to serve as midnight snack. Parent mtg for all HS football players will be held on the 7^th at 7:00pm.

Picture Day Aug 10^th at 4:00. Senior and Parent Pictures starting around 6:00/6:30.

Craig Pruitt, Scott Carlisle, and Alan Overstreet will help sell ads. Maria Bowman and Sue Ann Blalock will help record student names as pictures are taken.

CD will be split as agreed upon at previous meeting. We have 10 days after 7/24 to split it.

August 15^th will be Make-up Picture Day at Watson Mill at 4:00. Sue Ann & Dale Blalock and Jeannie Ferguson will organize & help record the names of students as pictures as taken.

The club discussed making a person an automatic booster club member when they sponsor at the $250 level. The Booster Club By-Laws will be consulted. The motion was tabled until the next meeting.

We have an estimate and plans for new cabinets. Craig Pruitt can have one of his guys install the cabinets. Craig is also working on getting a refrigerator for the concession stand. Donna Magnus made the motion to make improvements to concession stand pending BOE approval. Scott Carlisle seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Sponsorship is currently at $7,747. We have not heard back from many of the sponsors from last year. Several members volunteered to contact previous sponsors. Even though the sponsorship deadline is July 24^th, we will still accept sponsorships throughout the school year.

Next mtg date falls on Aug. 10^th which is Picture Day. We will meet on August 17^th at 6:30 in the Media Center.

Scott Thaxton will be offering buttons with student/athlete pictures, license plates with pictures, and picture magnets along with picture packages. Please see the display at Picture Day on August 10^th for details.

Van Gibboney spoke to the booster club about making improvements to the Press Box. The idea will be taken to the BOE for approval.

School system employees along with one family member will again be allowed admission with no charge to all home sporting events this school year. Employees must show a valid school ID.

Donna Magnus inquired about the football field improvements that should have gone before the BOE in July. Coach Milligan stated that Dr. Welch did not put the item on the agenda to be addressed, therefore it was not brought before the BOE. It is now too late to grade and plant new grass on the field.

Weight Training has gone well this summer. Coach Milligan has had a good turn out of athletes. The hard work will continue with 2-a-day practices and football camp.

Contact Alan Erwin if you are interested in playing in the tournament. Team sign-ups are preferred; however, single players may sign-up and will be placed with a team.
